Tying in with London Cocktail Week (October 5th-12th), the people behind Woodford Reserve – a craft bourbon – are set to launch a one-of-a-kind pop-up bar The Art Of The Old Fashioned in Shoreditch. Taking residence beneath an old railway arch on Old Street, the bar will be open between October 6th-9th from 6pm-11pm, the bar will offer guests to sample a menu collaborated upon by a selection of talented bartenders from across the globe.
Unsurprisingly, the focus is on the classic Old Fashioned cocktail, which traditionally features just bourbon, sugar syrup, and Angostura bitters, not forgetting the orange twist garnish. The Art Of The Old Fashion’s menu, however will feature a number of twists upon the classic, as well as inviting guests to create their own cocktail through an immersive master class that’s available each evening. And with recipes from the likes of The Savoy’s Eric Lorinz and Nightjar’s Marian Beke, we have the recipe for “The Cocktail Lover’s Old Fashioned”, which will be available from the bar.
The Art of the Old Fashioned runs from 6th to 9th October 2015 from 6pm to 11pm each evening and is located at 347 Old Street in East London. Each Old Fashioned will be priced at £5 for LCW wristband holders, with the masterclasses priced at £15. For more information, or to book a masterclass, visit https://drinkup.london.
