Brewers fail to organise piss up in their brewery

Two bungling beer-makers have cancelled their ‘Piss Up in a Brewery’ event – because they failed to apply for a booze licence on time.

Alex Wilson and Nick Folkard had hoped to hold the tongue-in-cheek knees-up at their Black Iris Brewery in Basford, Notts., on Saturday.

But they were forced to axe the party at the last minute when they failed to obtain an alcohol licence.

The company announced the blunder on their Instagram page.

A spokesman said: “[The pub] has been kind enough for us to move the event into their beer garden, so I hope you repay their kindness by eating lots of burgers.

“We trust this won’t cause anyone too much inconvenience and apologise for literally not being able to organise a piss up in a brewery!

“We will just have to call it a ‘P*** Up near a Brewery’.”

Reveller John Eddington, 21, tweeted: “Irony doesn’t even cover it!”
