Beer of the Week – Partizan Iced Tea Saison

By Jonathan Hatchman, Food Editor, @TLE_Food

Strength: 3.7%

Brewed: Bermondsey, London

Renowned for their brilliant Pale Ale, Partizan Brewery’s Iced Tea Saison is the latest to tickle our fancy. In fairness, the combination of Iced Tea and Beer does seem like an odd one, but the pair does somehow work in harmony. Brewed and bottled in South London, featuring a compelling label that’s designed by artist Alec Doherty, the drink is hazy and golden with a thin white head. On the nose, there are distinct tropical fruit flavours, including Peach and Lychee, and the taste is very delicate. The ratio between Beer and the Green Tea that’s used during the brewing process is well balanced, with further notes of citric fruits including Lime, Lemon and Orange. The finish is rather short, yet given the low alcohol volume; this light Saison is both refreshing and easily drinkable.
