Set up in 2012 by a trio of like-minded individuals – siblings Tom and Jess Seaton and business partner Neil Hinchley – CRATE Brewery operates from an old print factory that overlooks the River Lea, in the heart of London’s Hackney Wick. Using only the finest British Malts and internationally sourced Hops, the brand now has ten different brews to its name is supported by a number of acclaimed restaurant groups and hotels, including Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Mark Hix, The Berkeley and more.
Set up with some help from the local community, CRATE now runs a Bar and Pizzeria alongside the Brewery as they’re beginning to become pivotal to London’s Craft Beer Revolution. This week’s Beer of the Week is Golden, a golden Ale that’s available by the bottle and on tap at a number of London’s pubs and restaurants: light and smooth with just 3.8% ABV, with a sweet burnt caramel note that lingers on the palate.
CRATE Brewery can be found at Unit 7, Queens Yard, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5EN and their full range is available to purchase from cratebrewery.com.
