This is the moment police had a real-life ‘Hot Fuzz’ moment – by rescuing an escaped SWAN.

Two PCSOs found themselves chasing a lost bird near Trowbridge in Witlshire – replicating the scene from the Simon Pegg and Nick Frost blockbuster,

But unlike the bumbling antics of Sergeant Nicholas Angel and PC Danny Butterman the officers recovered the stray bird with ease.

They even posed for a selfie with the bird in their cop car.

Trowbridge Police confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, stating that two PCSOs had been despatched to Roundpound after reports of a lost swan.

“Today (October 3) PCSOs Maria Badder and Laura Humphreys responded to calls from local residents of a lost swan near Roundpond, Melksham,” the post said.

“Fully committed to their duty to protect our rural wildlife, they located the swan and offered it a lift home. Seatbelts on (road safety first, always!) and off they went to return the majestic bird back to the river, where it was reunited with a herd of swans by King George V playing field, safe and sound!”

The officers were later photographed with the lost swan in their patrol car.
