Willie J Healey has announced the forthcoming release of his second EP Saturday Night Feeling on November 6th. Check out lead single ‘Dude Like Him’ below for some summer vibes in the vein of Maccabees and Hooton Tennis Club.
‘Dude Like Him’, demonstrates a more direct and punchy side to Willie’s typically hazy and meandering surf-rock persona. He is, in his own words ‘a lover of all things simple, cult films, surf tones and the girl next door’.
Willie deals in the feel-good and bittersweet – hazily recounting small-town stories of young love, heartache and alien encounters. His sound and attitude adds a refreshingly British twist to the slack, grungy singer songwriting template popularised by the likes of Mac DeMarco, Twin Peaks and Kurt Vile.
Catch Willie at the Sebright Arms on September 24th before he heads out as main support for indie synth pop duo Summer Camp on their forthcoming UK tour.
