Passarella Death Squad, the Anglo-Japanese fashion label has created 16 exclusive artworks for the iconic American adult brand ‘Penthouse’. Each image has been photographed, cropped and doctored by designer Danny Passarella to achieve the effect.
Danny says,
“While considering this project I was especially compelled by the allure of the hidden, so I wanted people to look a bit deeper than they normally would at a Penthouse image.
“Normally it’s the figure and the nudity that people notice. I wanted to draw viewers to the human being in the picture, and for the treatments to provoke a range of emotions beyond lust alone.”
The artworks evoke the ghosted look of a pirated VHS and the designs, Danny hopes, provide a window onto the soul of the models themselves.
Kelly Holland, Managing Director of Penthouse Entertainment, says,
“We are thrilled to announce our collaborative partnership with the revolutionary UK-based fashion brand, Passarella Death Squad.
“Leveraging Danny Passarella’s rare vision, the collection enchants with classic Penthouse images reimagined and distilled through Danny’s uniquely filtered lens. We can’t wait to share this dynamic capsule collection with our readers and fans.”
Passarella Death Squad products have been sold at some of the world’s best retailers, including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Liberty’s, Colette, Bloomingdales, Podium and TSUM Russia.
A soundtrack by Danny Passarella and techno producer ‘Perc’ has been created to accompany the exhibitions.
