Taylor Swift releases song and petition calling for LGBTQ equality

Pop singer and songwriter Taylor Swift on Monday released a star-studded music video that scolded social media trolls and urged fans to sign a petition demanding U.S. legal protections for gays, lesbians and transgender people. The video for Swift's new single "You Need to Calm Down" featured a surprise cameo by former rival Katy Perry plus a host of other celebrities. Perry's appearance signalled an end to a spat between the two musicians which began in 2013 over backup singers...

PLAYLIST: Best of MAY 2019

Now we're talking. Cheers May, that was a winner. What was your personal highlight? There's new Tyler, The Creator utterly clattering up the charts, Flying Lotus's latest opus, bursting at the seams as always with spicy guest spots (Tierra Whack and David Lynch on the same track listing? - I'll have that), and a classy and glassy new Cate le Bon record to bathe in. AND Denzel Curry squeaked his way through the closing garage door of June to casually...

World famous pop star, Elton John, has made some very public comments over his opinion on Brexit. On Wednesday, while performing in Verona, he said: “I’m ashamed of my country for what it has done. It’s torn people apart … I am sick to death of politicians, especially British politicians. I am sick to death of Brexit. I am a European. I am not a stupid, colonial, imperialist English idiot.” A film about his life is currently in cinemas and he...

Camden, London05/05/2019Pictures: Graham Berry (@blktphotography) Sunday is ever considered a day of rest, to look upon the week’s achievements with your feet up and Countryfile on the TV. Unfortunately there’s no rest for the wicked, and those powering on through another day of towering riffs are certainly that (wicked hungover, mostly). London locals Mountain Caller might be new to the scene, having only formed in 2017, but their considered, windingly-progressive stoner doom evokes the sounds of some established genre stalwarts....
