We’re all guilty of ducking issues. The biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK is suicide, and it’s because we let issues mount up rather than letting them out.
Which is why Ducking Punches strike such a poignant note with their first new video since the release of their assured fourth album ‘Alamort’.
“I Ruin Everything” is about as honest, as brazen and as powerful a hit as you are likely to hear this year.
The video features the band opening up about their issues in a release dubbed by Clash as “a blistering achievement” and “brutally honest watch”.
They talk about their personal trials and tribulations and how challenging they can be to overcome when mixed with the vicious cocktail of events that are happening across the world right now.
Speaking about this latest single and video, Ducking Punches frontman Dan Allen says:
“This is the most honest song on the record for me and writing this song saved my life in a very dark time, I was pretty close to checking out…. Charlie (the director) asked us all individually one question “What does the record mean to you?” Making this album made me feel alive again and those release shows really cemented that for me. I think it’s why this video is so special. Charlie did an amazing job on it.”
