UK inflation drops sharply as PM says pledge has been ‘delivered’

Consumer Prices Index inflation was 4.6 per cent in October, down from 6.7 per cent in September, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.
The decision will remove the limit on bankers’ annual payouts from the end of October. Current rules limit bonuses to 100 per cent of the salary.
Borrowers are already facing big increases in monthly bills thanks to mortgage rates moving higher.
