A florist situated next to a park has come under fire for selling sticks - for a massive £18.  See NATIONAL story NNSTICK.  Botanique in trendy Stoke Newington, east London, has around eight pieces of wood around a foot long for customers to hang on their walls.  The wall hangings range from £12 to £18 with various shapes and sizes, with some including notches to hang clothes from.  Most are made from birch or holly and are planed and sanded at the back with holes drilled through so they can be attacked to a wall.  BBC presenter Jeremy Vine brought the sticks to the attention of social media when he tweeted a pictures to his 600,000 followers.  Shop keeper and owner, Alice Howard, said the wall hangings were worth the price tag as they needed to be sourced and hand crafted.

The formerly named Millennium Tower is set to re-open from April 1 for the summer months. Customers will be able to learn about the history of Glasgow as they ascend to the top in a two-and-a-half minute lift ride. The tower has been plagued by problems since being built, including missing its own unveiling by not working properly.

Grampian Growers in Montrose grow around six million daffodils and those stems are now being prepared to be lifted in June after being planted two-and-a-half years ago. The yellow flowers cover an area of 1000 acres and managing director Mark Clarke, 52, said the plants will soon be picked and sold. He said: "Of the six million stems we grow, around half will be exported to the US. The other 50 per cent will be split between mainland Europe, Scandinavia. "We also sell a lot to supermarkets in the UK."
