Alan Bates turned down an OBE, saying it would be a "slap in the face" to the other postmasters who suffered at the hands of the ex-Post Office CEO.
"I’ve only watched 5 mins of the Post Office Scandal drama and I’m shouting at TV. Not sure I can watch it!!!", one person posted.
"We owe it to the voters to have another debate."
Sir Alan said he hoped the honour would be ‘another string to my bow to help me go forward and get some finality for people’.
Mr Bates had labelled the former postal affairs minister’s words ‘offensive’ and disappointing’.
Mr Bates gave evidence to the Business and Trade Committee on Tuesday.
