Donald Trump is overwhelmingly backed to be re-elected in 2020 after he announced he would run again.
Even with a multitude of candidates offered by bookies, the 71-year-old is trumping the market with a total of 58 per cent of all bets on him to be re-elected in the last hour.
Odds have been cut on Trump reaffirming his position from 5/2 into 15/8, suggesting an implied 28 per cent chance of winning to a 34 per cent chance of re-election.
Elizabeth Warren (12/1) is second favourite to win, followed by Kamala Harris (14/1), Bernie Sanders (16/1) and Mike Pence (16/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Whilst many of the world’s population await news of a Trump impeachment, punters reckon he is here to stay.
“This could be a case of having an emotional hedge, profiting if the President does manage to be elected for another term.”
