This unbelievable picture captured the ultimate fly-ship as ‘naughty’ sailors apparently abandoned their ride in front of a no fly-tipping sign.
Despite prosecution warnings the would-be pirates brazenly dumped their boat in full sight of the road between the villages of Cadeby and Sprotbrough – 23 miles from the sea.
Tim Hadfield, 52, snapped the picture at the entrance to a former landfill site near Doncaster, South Yorks.
“I was on my way to a supplier and I spotted it and jsut started laughing.
“We got so much fly tipping round here, it can be a bit of a problem.
“But I’ve never seen a boat. That’s pretty incredible to be honest.
“It was dumped at the entrance of a now dissued land fill.
“The place has bee nshut for 2 or three years now, and is all grown over – so I think it would have just been left there during the night sometime.
Tim tweeted the snap and said: ““Surely this has to be the ultimate fly tip ever?”
Doncaster Council were quick to reply.
A council officer tweeted: “Hi Tim, we’re trying to establish whether it is a disgruntled Bullseye winner or a very lost sailor.
“We’ll update you when we can. Let’s hope we can give whoever dumped it a ‘special prize’.”
