A dumped dog was abandoned a second time by her cruel owner after she managed to find her way back home.

The one-year-old brindle saluki was found tied up in a play park in Chessington by a women who took her home.

But as she called the RSPCA the frightened pooch managed to escape from the garden.

And a man later found the unloved dog now called Flo tied to a bus stop and this time the RSPCA managed to take her to safety before she tried to run away again.

RSPCA trainee inspector Helen Wheeler who collected Flo said: “The original caller had found her tied up to a bridge in a children’s play area and took her home.

“But, as she was making her some shelter in the garden, the dog managed to slip out of the garden.

“I suspect she ran home and, when her owners saw she had returned, they took her back out and abandoned her again, this time tying her up to a bus stop.

“The poor girl has effectively been abandoned twice in one day.”

Flo was taken to the RSPCA’s South Godstone Animal Centre in Surrey last Saturday (July 15), where staff treated for an ear infection.

Flo was not microchipped and had no collar or ID tag.

Trainee inspector Wheeler added: “We are now investigating how this poor girl came to be abandoned and suspect she has been dumped by someone local who was able to restrain her a second time after she got free and went home.

“We’d like anyone who saw Flo in the area on Saturday or anyone who recognises her to get in touch by calling our appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and leaving me a message.”

Flo will go up for rehoming once she has had all of her vaccinations and has been microchipped and spayed.
