Our new PM Theresa May has told the Commons that she would press the red button and launch a nuclear attack that could kill one hundred thousand people.

She said that the fact she was willing to take such drastic action means others would not attack the UK with the same weaponry.

May added it was “sad” that the Green Party and some members of the Labour party are the “first to defend the country’s enemies.

Additionally she said it would be “gross irresponsibility” to not renew our deterrent; Trident “has been an insurance policy for this country for nearly 50 years .”

Corbyn responded that the current nuclear deterrent has not stopped various conflicts across the world including Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.
