Popular streets and areas of London such as Clapham, Brixton, Whitehall, Piccadilly Circus, Harrods and Covent Garden have been given a historical makeover thanks to cutting-edge Google Street View technology.
Using street maps, Expedia has documented how these areas have transformed in the last 100 years. They selected 14 different areas of London and obtained Google Street View footage of them, and then took olden images from up to 100 years ago in order to lay these over the top of the modern streets.
The point? To showcase how much these contemporary, neon lit streets have been transformed in recent decades and how many glimpses of untouched, historic beauty are still visible today.
