As many of us are gearing toward preparations for Christmas, it hardly seems like an appropriate time to put your property on the market… or is it?
Surprisingly (or not), more people search online for a new home over the Christmas and New Year period than any other time of year. Families spend time together making plans for the next year and a new home. Rightmove reports, “last year [they] had over a million visitors on Christmas Day… [and] nearly 3 million people visited Rightmove on the first working day last January.”
So is it possible to take advantage of this exposure while avoid viewings over the Christmas period?
A new campaign – ‘Do Not Disturb’ – launched by property firm Watsons lets you market your home before Christmas without any disturbance over the festive period.
We all know how hard it is to keep your home looking Iike a show home while you’re busy entertaining. It’s not the ideal time to conduct viewings or take photographs as you put up your decorations and Christmas tree.
Watsons will photograph your home before decorations are up and advertise it on the biggest property websites – so you can take advantage of the exposure. With all viewing booked in the new year, it seems the campaign will give you the best of both worlds – your home seen by the most amount of buyers while you enjoy a quiet family Christmas.
So if you have plans to sell your home in 2016, now could be a good time to market your property and maximise on the huge levels of traffic reported in previous years.
