The Barclays Premier League is the most-watched football league in the world. Starting on 8th August, things are heating up for the 20 clubs. But is it the same story for house prices surrounding the stadium of this year’s 20 premier league teams? Online estate agent eMoov.co.uk looks at the Premiership property table ahead of the start of the season.
FA Cup winners Arsenal will take on champions Chelsea. These two London giants are also top of the Premiership property league table, with the most expensive average house prices. Chelsea, in SW6 tops the league table with an average price of £1,137,550, but has seen a 5 per cent price fall since the start of last season. Property around the Emirates has climbed 6 per cent, but Arsenal is still £600,000 behind the league leaders.
Liverpool and Everton are at the bottom of the Premiership property league table. Neither team has managed more than a 1 per cent rise on last year, with an average house price of £72,000 surrounding Goodison Park and Anfield.
The Premiership property league table infographic by eMoov shows all 20 Premier League teams, the average house prices surrounding their stadiums and the change in prices.
Russell Quirk, founder and ceo of eMoov, commented: “Although the top two make for familiar reading, it’s interesting that a successful, wealthy Premier League club doesn’t necessarily translate to a thriving property market in the surrounding areas. I think in terms of property, West Ham and Tottenham are the ones to watch. The developments in terms of location and transport infrastructure should see prices in both areas boosted as a result.“
