A teenager is in hospital after being repeatedly stabbed in an “appallingly violent” attack in north London.

Police say the 16-year-old and a a 28-year-old man were ambushed by five armed thugs who jumped out of a silver Vauxhall Corsa in Wood Green late on Thursday night.

The victims were taken to north London hospitals by paramedics following what detectives described as the “appallingly violent” incident in Salisbury Road at around 10.40pm.

Police say they both remain in a “stable” condition and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the latest knife attack in the capital.

Three teenagers have been stabbed to death in the capital in the first five weeks of this year.

Detective Inspector Stephen Masterson, said: “This was an appallingly violent attack by a group of armed men intent on causing serious injury.

“Had it not been for the fast actions of the first officers on scene it is likely that this would have been a murder investigation.

“I urge anyone who saw a silver Vauxhall Corsa in the Salisbury Road area on Thursday or any suspicious activity to call police without delay.”
